WORSHIP ART - alabanza
WORSHIP ART IS MY PERSONAL EXPRESSION OF WORSHIPING GOD THROUGH ART. EVERY PAINTING IN THIS SERIES BEGAN WITH A SPECIFIC PRAYER AND THE PRAYERS CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE PAINTING PROCESS. THE PROCESS INVOLVES A SPECIFIC CHOICE OF COLORS THAT HAVE BIBLICAL MEANINGS. MY PALETTE IS FILLED WITH GLORIOUS HUES CREATED BY GOD. EVERY PAINTING IS ACRYLIC ON HEAVY CANVAS.
Mis Flores - Flowers
This floral series began with my desire to paint some of the flowers that were part of my childhood in Puerto Rico. Most of them are painted from photographs that I took during my many trips back to Puerto Rico as an adult and then painted here in my Colorado art studio. All paintings were created using Winsor Newton watercolor paint and 140 lb. Rag Watercolor Paper.
portraits
There is a special story behind every portrait that I paint. My goal is to capture the essence of the person that I am painting. Each painting is labeled with the medium used.
graphic design
My first career was in graphic design and I now teach graphic design as part of my Capturing Creativity curriculum. In this portfolio I will highlight my branding designs for our school "HOUSE" system, which was put in place in 2017. The HOUSE system is based on Mark 12:30-31:
30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all
your strength. 31 The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment
greater than this.
The designs include all branding for student apparel, school banners, social media, and all school "HOUSE" communications.
I used Adobe Illustrator for all final work.

MURALS
Let The children come to me...Las cruces, new mexico.
I designed the following murals as collaborative projects to be completed on specific ministry sites by me and my art students. The design process begins in the classroom with prayer and brainstorming. The silhouette figures were drawn and cut out in paper in the classroom, so the students could easily trace them and paint them with the chosen southwestern palette. I stayed up the night before to project my Jesus portrait that I had originally painted for the school (seen here under portraits). We had two days to complete it!

PAPER MURALs - las cruces, new mexico
What lifts you up?
This mural was made during mission's week 2017 by CHCMS students and MacArthur Elementary School in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Each student painted a wing and I built the "Wings" and painted the lettering. The blessing from our students was to lift up the Las Cruces students and encourage them to pursue their dreams.
we are god's masterpiece...
This collaborative mural was made entirely of paper cut-outs. Each CHCMS student helped a student from MacArthur Elementary trace their hands on brightly colored card stock and write a personal goal. The collective blessing was to know that together we are a masterpiece. I built the paper flower out of all of the hands.
